Wedged between the mountains and the sea, the Batina region is overflowing with farms, gardens, and oasis plantations. Start the trip with a visit to the Barka Fish Market, where local fisherman offer you fresh fish directly from the rich Sea of Oman. Then head over to Al Hazm Fort near Rustaq, one of the country’s historical military strongholds. Afterwards, venture over to the lush palm groves of the Nakhal Oasis and dip your feet into the healing waters of the Ayn Al Thawara hot springs.

• Leave Muscat at 8.30 am

Considerations

Conservative swim wear is needed in Wadi Bani Khalid (covering shoulders and knees).

A good idea is to wear a t-shirt and pair of shorts on top of your swimming costume. When wet, the rocks at the Wadi can be slippery. We recommend that you wear shoes with decent grip.
